PHARMALIPON

General Information

PHARMALIPON is a certified and officially registered medicinal product in Ukraine. It has a beneficial effect on the digestive tract and helps improve metabolic processes in the body. Thioctic acid, the active ingredient of the product, is a powerful antioxidant that may help reduce liver enzyme levels.

In modern pharmaceutical practice and medicine, this substance is used for the treatment of pain and paresthesia associated with diabetic polyneuropathy. The therapeutic effectiveness of the product has been enhanced through the use of innovative formulations that improve the solubility and intestinal absorption of thioctic acid.

Today, the medicinal product is widely used in the management of neurological disorders, including diabetic polyneuropathy, which is characterized by reduced sensitivity of peripheral nerve endings. Scientific research is also being conducted on its use in patients with other conditions, including those in the field of gastroenterology.

Composition

Thioctic acid – 30 mg per 1 mL of solution, equivalent to 600 mg per vial.

Excipients: meglumine, macrogol 300, water for injection.

Indications

Paresthesia associated with diabetic polyneuropathy.

Directions for Use

The product is administered intravenously as an infusion.

Dosage: 600 mg of thioctic acid per day.

For administration, 20 mL of the product should be diluted in 50–250 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride solution.

The infusion duration should be at least 30 minutes.

After preparation, the solution should be used immediately and protected from light using light-resistant black bags.

The duration of the initial treatment course is 7–14 days.

Thereafter, maintenance therapy may be prescribed using other pharmaceutical forms of the product.

Important: There are no available data regarding the use of the product in children, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women; therefore, it should not be prescribed to these patient groups.
